By way of introduction.

In April 1967 I left Germany on a Volkswagen-Bus, starting a journey that has continued ever since. This is my collection of letters, diaries, photographs and documents, written in German, published here, 40 years later. What you see on the left is always my latest entry. To read all entries in chronological order, open all archive tabs below and start with 'Hallo', then continue with "From Krefeld to Afghanistan", letter by letter, to follow my journey ...

To access photo albums which appear inside the blog texts, do the following:

Right-click on the photo and select 'Open link in new tab' to view my web album. Once there, select first picture - you will be directed to a new page with that photo filling the screen. On the top left there will be a button 'Fullscreen' - click on that to proceed. To move from page to page - click on the arrow keys. To return to the blog just close the tab.
